STARR-BOWKETT BUILDING SOCIETY

Ballots for free of interest loans in this Society were held at last night s meeting, Air W. J. Williams £SOO (No. 4 group), and Mr C. R. Weeks £SOO (N T o. 8 group) being the successful shareholders. At ifhe subsequent meeting of the directors there wore present: Messrs W. S. Woodroofc (chairman), C. E. Dempsy, At. A. Eliott, J. B. Gerrard, W. Mundy, and S. J. Watson. Profits on live shares £37 10s, and 4 shares £3 0, were passed for payment in No. 2 group. Loans of £3OO and £2OO, obtained by ballot, wore approved, and a tender for £SOO accepted in No. 3 group. Two loans were finally passed for £2OO each in No. 4 group, and a, loan for £SOO obtained by tender, was granted in No. 5 group. The £IOOO loan obtained by ballot at a previous meeting was reported as completed in No. (1 group. The plans for a now house for a loan of £IOOO in No. 7 group wore approved and progress payments authorised; and a loan of £SOO by ballot hold over for renovations to be completed, was passed for payment. £SOO obtained by ballot in No. 8 group was finally completed. It was resolved to hold baliots for free loans at next meeting in groups 3, 5. and fi, and to invite tenders for loans in groups 4 and S. A number of shares in groups (I. V. and S were applied for and allotted. a total of 32 being taken up since last meeting.
