SEVENTH CUP SHOOT At Fitzherbert bridge on Saturday, 16 members of the Palmerston North Gun Club held a shoot under excellent weather conditions. A high standard was maintained, some of tho competitors securing the maximum number of birds. Following are the scores;— Seventh cup shoot and first sweepstake (8 birds). —Messrs P. Meehan and S. Sievert brought down all eight birds and divided th e prize money,, while seven members returned sevens. Trophy shoot and second sweepstake (8 birds).—Messrs P. Meehan, K. Thomson and A. L. Cook all secured the maximum, but in the shoot off for the trophy the first-named won out, after six additional birds had been shot, the prize money being, however, divided.
Third sweepstake (S birds).—Messrs H. Nuttall, G. H. Fitt and J. Donald all secured the maximum number of birds and divided th e sweep money. Attending them were eight members with seven on.
Final shoot (double rise). —Messrs P. Meehan and H. Nuttall both secured three double rises, the latter winning in the shoot off.
