Hr. and Mrs. W. Walters, of Wellington, have taken up residence in Palmerston North. The many friends of Ernest L. Jenkins (who lost his leg in a motor cycle accident on Peep o’ Daj road four months ago), will be pleased to hoar ho was able to leave hospital last week The North Sydney Rugby club hopes to gain the services of A. C. (“Johnny”) Wallace, who has completed his studies at Oxford. Wallace won his place not only ip Oxford’s first fifteen; but in tho Scottish threerquarter line in most of the international games during the last three seasons. Congratulations were conveyed td Mr N. H. S. Law, on his promotion to an inspectorship, by the. Teachers’ Institute branch on Saturday. Mr L. F. do Berry was nominated as Mr Law’s successor on the Grading Appeal Board, and his candidature is to be brought' to the notice of other branches.
