MANAWATU 1 v. PALMERSTON NORTH. Manawatu met Palmerston North yesterday, each club sending a rink away. The former club won both games by a good margin. At Manawatu, Smith, Wall, Goldfinch and Paton (s) beat Holland, Birch and Gerrand (si 28 —5. At Taonui street, Baylis, Boon, Wilton and Sharman (s) beat Andrews, Preece, Low and D. Jones (s) 34—20. Total: Palmerston North 62; Manawatu 25. TERRACE END v. NORTHERN. The Terrace End club sent only one rink to play Northern on the latter club’s greens, and that rink won. Two games, however, were played on the Terace End greens, each club winning one. At Northern, Mu'nro, Wort, Fraser and Snell (s) defeated Levy, Robinson Welsh and Hodgens (s) 27—13. At Terrace End, Perry, G. Ashton, Rennett and Duncalf (s) lost to Allen, McPherson, Thornley and Cunninghame (s) 13 —20. Fletcher J. Ashton, Oliver and Skinner (s) defeated Palmer, Stallard, Kirk and Morshead (s) 26 —16. Totals; Terraco End 66; Northern 49. SATURDAY’S GAMES. The- fixture between the Palmerston North’ and Manawatu clubs in the week-end inter-club play scheduled to be played on Saturday, will not be played, owing to the Manawatu club having to place a rink in the field to defend the Hanson and Barr Cup against Takaro.
