Mr. Lloyd George described Mr. Philip Snowden’s speech, on pre ference for the ex-Premler’s land scheme, as of conscious power and great moderation. He had specially watched Mr. Snowden’s face while Mr. Dalton was speaking. It was an expression of counsel In Court when his Junior was addressing the, Jury. Mr. Snowden had not the fanatical zeal qf a novitiate, | Mr. Hudson inquired whether Mr. Lloyd George and Mr. Snowden had consulted before the latter’s speech. ; Mr. Lloyd George, amidst lond laughter, replied: "The agreement simply amounts to this: two Intelligent, well-informed minds approaching the same problem | with an earnest desire to solve It along right lines.”
