W.C.T.U.
The monthly meeting of the Palmerston North branch of the W.C.T.U. was held yesterday afternoon In St. Andrew’s schoolroom, Mrs. F. Young, vice-president, being in the chair. Mrs. Collins, corresponding secretary, read a letter from Miss Henderson, of the headquarters organisation, urging all to look for new opporunitles for work and securing new members. Mrs. T. R. Hodder, honorary secretary, introduced Miss J. L. Bradshaw, Dominion, organiser, who had consented to address the next meeting on Maori work. Mr. H. Grinstead. organiser for the New Zealand Alliance, introduced his successor, Mr. J. Kingston and Mrs. Kingston, the former speaking of the valuable work of the W.C.T.U. Miss Bradshaw and Mrs. E. B. Watson contributed a vocal duet, and Mr. Kingston also sang two Bangs.
