MENTAL PATIENT ESCAPES
LOCATED AT PALMERSTON NORTH HOSPITAL. While being conveyed from Wanganui to Porlrua yesterday afternoon, a mental patient managed to regain his liberty during-the bustle of changing trains at Palmerston North station. The journey to PaUmerston Nortli was made ■ on the express from New Plymouth, but as that train docs not stop at Porlrua, it was necessary, for a transfer to be made to the one leaving Palmerston North at 3.43 p.m. An immediate search in the vicinity of the platform failed to reveal the missing man, but he was subsequently located at the Hospital, where ho had wended his way In search of medical attention. ■
