IN DIVORCE

LASSEN V. LASSEN,

A petition for alimony and final custody of children was heard by Mr Justice McGregor in the Supreme Court yesterday in respect of a decree nisi granted at the November sitting of the Court as between Louisa Lassen of Palmerston North (Mr Fitzherbert) and Charles Lassen, farmer, of Christchurch (Mr Smith).

Mr Smith stated that subject to the approval of the Court, the parties had agreed to a decree absolute being made. Lassen would agree to a sum of £SOO being paid to Mrs Lassen in lieu of permanent alimony and also that she should receive £l per week for each child until each reached the age of 16 years. Mrs Lassen could have custody of the children, but the father desired reasonable opportunities of seeing them from time to time. His Honour asked that the agreements be put in writing. He would in all probability consent to them and asked that they be brought forward again when the decree absolute was moved in 10 days’ time, probably at Wanganui. -
