The ninth week of the Exhibition closed on Monday night with an attendance record Of ,1,083,659) a resfult •Which Is far ahead of the most sanguine expectations of the promoters and of that of the Christchurch Exhibition, which took twelve and a half weeks to reach the point which the present Exhibition has overshot by nearly 100,000 in nine weeka -A contributing factor has been the delightful summer weather of the last few weeks, during which Dunedin has enjoyed a long sun bath. Bir James Parr, who la spending a week at the Exhibition, expressed his surprise at the vast extent of the buildings, and alt the high duality of the exhibits throughout, and said he had been much impressed by the' beauty and great educational value Of the British Government court The New Zealand Government had every reason to be satisfied with the very fine display In Its pavilion and the secondary Industries pavilion was an eyeopener as to ■ the Variety and duality of Dominion manufactures.
The Education court’s fame had spread abroad and he was proud, as Minister, that they had done this thing so well. He'offered the heart-; lest congratulations of .Ministry and of the Government on the suocess of the Court, and of the Exhibition’s moving map of the world. “That wonderful bit of geography In that -wonderful pool,” he said, "was -worth an hour of any child’s time.”
