BALANCE OF POWER
HECTIC SESSION FOR OTTAWA. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Aunt, and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Monday 11.20 p.m.) OTTAWA, January 17. When the debate on the speech from the throne begins In the Commons on Monday, Mr Melghen, the Conservative if-ader, will be the first Opposition speaker. It is understood ho will move a further amendment, calling for a straight out want of confidence vote in the Government The moving of this second, amendment will mark a renewal of the battle for political Supremacy which was waged in the House last week, culminating in victory fo” the Government by a narrow majority. Indications point to the continuance of a very hectic session of Parliament. Whether the Premier, Mr MacKenzle King will be opposed by a Conservative or a Progressive ,vhen he runs In Prince Albert is yet undecided.
