WHISKY SHIPMENT GOES ASTKAY. LONDON, December 81. Sir Brodrlck Hartwell, who has been nicknamed “the whisky-running baronet,” dihclosed, under examination in 'the Bankruptcy Court, that his liabiities amounted to £250,000. j He said that, in response to Invitations from Americans, he had despatched seven shipments of whisky. I The last of these comprised 56,000 cases, but the vessel's crew mutinied, and the cargo was transferred to smaller vessels, from which prohibition officers had seized 36,000 cases. He had not received payment for the shipment, which was valued at €250,000; consequently his only assets were irrecoverable book debts.
