A GOLD WATOH

FOll MILLIONTH VISITOR TO EXHIBITION. [Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Last Night. There is no sign yet of any slackening in the wonderful holiday attendance at the Exhibition. The grand total up to and including January 7, was 865,906, which gives the remarkable daily average of 19,680. it is expected that the millionth visitor, who will receive a gold watch, will pass through the gates next Thursday or Friday. Councillor Troup, of Wellington, in an interview, said the Exhibition is in many ways a revelation. The exhibits in the New Zealand Government pavilion and Education court are wonderfully good. They are ‘‘out on their own,” In fact, the education court exhibits are, I think, superior to what I saw in that line at Wembley. The New Zealand secondary industries court, too, is an exceedingly fine one, not only because of the multiplicity of manufactures, but also because of the very high standard of quality. The Educational value of the British Government’s pavilion is incalculable. The British Government display is entirely different from what was shown at Wembley and shows how exhibits can and should be made the most of; not ail crowded together, but displayed with a certain dignity and breadth ' of effect. The same can be said of the Wellington court. Though it is a most interesting court, it gives one a feeling of repose. Other' provincial courts are good, but they have not just that quality.”
