After a meeting of Cabinet, General Pangalos issued a proclamation to the nation', declaring that the Government had borne with equanimity insults, jibes and even attempts at revolution, but all hopes of agree, ment with a view to facilitating the restoration of normal political life had vanished by the unpatriotic attitude of leaders of the Opposition during the Greco-Bulgarian dispute, when they slanderously accused the Government of deliberately attacking Bulgaria. General Pangalos adds that he will proceed resolutely to carry out a programme for the unification of the republic and the entry of the country, by means of free elections, into a healthy, normal parliamentary life. He hopes to have the support of all the sound elements of the nation.
