CHORAL SOCIETY

“MESSIAH.” Never does Handal’s superb oratorio lose its appeal. It is ever as fresh and inspiring as when first it was heard. This most popular work is being produced by the Choral Society on Wednesday 9th. inst. The Society is fortunate in being assisted by, a strong orchestra of great ability. The soloists include Miss Mina Caldo\v of Auckland. Mr E. J. Loydon. Mr Harold Prescott the eminent tenor of Christchurch, and Mr William Watters of this town. The box plan opens for subscribers on Wednesday at G. IT. Bennett’s. The Society is offering special opportunities to music lovers to become honorary members for the remainder of the season at half rates.
