Elsewhere in this Issue particulars are advertised of the Oroua County Council’s proposal to raise a loan of £16,800 In connection with the work on the County’s main highways. A public meeting of all persons interested in the social and presentation to Mr and Mrs R. Cobbe will be held in the Library room on Thursday evening. At the annual meeting of the Fellding Chamber of Commerce, the following resolution was carried on the motion of Mr W. E. Carthew: “That the Chamber desires to place on record its appreciation of the services given over a number of years by Mr R. Cobbe and while regretting his departure from Feilding, offers sincere good wishes for his prosperity.” The esperanto class in Feilding is prospering and members of the Club recently met together and conducted an interesting debate on Prohibition. The discussion was carried on in Esperanto and the speeches were of considerable merit One hundred and sixty boxes of strawberries were picked at Petty’s strawberry acres yesterday. Business in Feilding, particularly In the motor Industry is by no means slack. Yesterday, one firm completed the eleventh car sale for the month of November —Even boom times could not produce such a record. There was talk yesterday of the possibility of Feilding being included In the districts which are to be rewarded with a reduction in fire premiums as from January Ist next.
