CHINESE DONATIONS TO HOSPITAL. Each year Chinese residents in Palmerston North generously subscribe to the local hospital. This year's effort has resulted in a sum of £2l/11/- being collected, the donor being Joe Kwong Shang Lee, Joe Kwong Lee and Coy, Joe Long Tow, Joe Nam Lee, Joe Hong Sing, Joe Chin Sing, Joe Kin, Joe Ping, Joe Wye. Joe Toung, Joe Jung, Joe Wah, Joe Shang Lee, Jce Woon, Joe Lee (Marton), Joe Tong, Joe Hong Lee, Joe Hee, M. S. Joe Lee, Wong Shun, Wong Plop, Louis Gee, Gee Long, Hum Keo, Ah Tom, Joe Chang. “I wish other people would take the same view as the Chinese." said Sir J. Q. Wilson in proposing a vote of thanks to the donors.
