Sir Edward Hulton’s breeding stud was sold at Newmarket. The Aga Khan bought Straitiace for 17,000 guineas, a record price for a brood mare. Soubriquet fetched 12,500 guineas, and Fifinella 12,000 guineas. The sale realised 137,760 guineas.
