FASTER.

SPEEDING HP NAPIER EXPRESS. The time taken to run the "mail" through from Napier to Wellington, and vice versa, is something like nine hours for less than 200 miles. The Limited express reels off the 426 miles between Auckland and Wellington in a dozen hours. WTiile these may be two extremes, there is a prtma facie case made out for the train getting a move on over the Hawke’s BayWcllington section. If, as is suggested, the number of goods trains dur-* ing the day is being curtailed and more run on the night shift, the Napier express will have no further excuse for a “go slow” policy once it has the right of way.
