INFANTILE CONVALESCENTS
Batch Of Fifteen For Rotorua TREK FROM PALMERSTON. NORTH YESTERDAY. Coupled up to the front of the Main Trunk express yesterday was a Pullman carrying fifteen infan-,; [tile paralysis convalescents from Pal- | merston North to Rotorua. In charge : lof two members of the nursing staff, ten patients were sent down from the Palmerston North hospital and another five joined up from their homes. Th c latter had apparently been well enough to have a short spell at home before joining up with • thc hospital party transfered to King y George V. hospital at Rotorua for? special treatment. The children were not allowed to go without some token of the interest; felt by Palmerstonians in their -welfare. In the morning, Mr P. T. . Robinson approached Mr A. Hannay with a call for assistance to provide ■ cheer and comfort on the long journey These two gentlemen in a very short time collected a good sum in limited donations, and the money was expended in purchasing fruit, toys and books for distribution among the little sufferers. Could all those Good Samaritans who made the gift possible have seen the result of their kindness, they would have been more than pleased.
