CYCLONIC RAINS.
NORTH GIPPSLAND VISITED. SNOWY RIVER BREAKS ITS BANKS. [By Electric Cable—Copyright? [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Monday, 9.50 p.m.) MELBOURNE,. July 13. Rain is falling with cyclonic intensity over the whole of ‘North Glppsland. The Tambo, Mitchell and Snowy rivers have broken their banks and inundated miles of country. The town of Orbost is isolated, but residents were warned by wireless of tue approach of the flood waters and removed from the low-lying districts. The railway service is disorganised. So far no casualties are reported, although there were many thrilling rescues. A fishing party, consisting of three men, left the lakes entrance for Mallacoota in a ketch ,and has not since been heard of.
