The Wellington races were concluded to-day in fine weather on a heavy course. Pukctoi led past the stands from Treadwell, Peter Maxwell, All Wind and Rippling, and turning out of the straight, Trespass and the favourite were last. Many Colours was still well back six furlongs from home, but crossing the top, he moved up fast and was in behind the leaders at the turn for home, where the advance division was Haligan. Treadwell and Glenidlc. Haligan and Many Colours rose at the last fence on even terms, but in the run to the post, Many Colours proved much too good and won nicely by a couple of lengths from Glenidlc. who got up in the last few strides to beat Haligan by a neck for second. Peter Maxwell was fourth and the next to finish wore Glument, Trespass and Rippling. Puketoi lost his rider at the fence six furlongs from home. The Novices.. Captain Wai and the Kembail bracket (Kilorum and De Luxe) were the best backed for the Novic e Handicap and there was any amount of money for Relic. Panorama led on to the course proper, but Town Crier and Captain Wai were not far away and in the run to 1 the judge, the pair fought out an interesting finish over the last hundred yards. Captain Wai got the upper hand ana won by a length and a-half. Kilmiss was three lengths away, third, then followed the Kemball pair. Enthuse and Panorama. Good Things Beaten. The igood races she had run on the. previous days of the meeting induced betters to send Adi Yunivola out favourite for the Crofton Handicap, but though she ran a good race, she was beaten into third place. Revel and Wharitl led in the earJy stages, but soon after turning for home. Blue Peter took charge and he was not seriously troubled to win by a good length from Gardant. who was a length in front of the favourite. JublTce was fourth. Lucullcnt wears Down Comical. Penury Rose, Comical and Nukumai carried the confidence of the xmblic in the Winter I-lurdlcs and all ran good races. July Steeples to Peter Amans. 1 Tukia, Bonibrook and Dick were ‘ the favourites for the July Steeple- \ chase. Tukia and Bonibrook went to , the front at the start, but at the stand j double, Puwhcro -was half a dozen , lengths in front of Peter Amans, with - Tukia, Bonibrook, First Line and Dick , following at intervals.
