FIRE IN SANSON.

TRAM SHED AND TRUCKS DESTROYED. Shortly after three o’clock on Sunday morning 1 , a lire broke out in the Manawatu County Council's tram shed at Sanson and within a very short while, damage to the amount of nearly £2,000 was doie. The building is situated immediately behind the Junction Hotel, and on the night of the fire was housing a guard’s van, a carriage ,and two ”M” waggons containing a considerable amount of merchandise owned by clients of the County’s tramway service. The whole of this, together with the building, was destroyed. Sunday happened to De one of the rare occasions whaw goods or trucks are stored in the building and as a rend: of the fir 5 the County is a heavy loser. The building was insured for £IOO whilst the contents other than the rolling stock, were covered i>y a policy of £2OO. The .rolling stock was not insured. It is not known how the fire originated.
