With all preparations completed, tho Elect is now awaiting' final tor its departure for Australia. Admiral Coontz informed the Australian Press Association there was now little likelihood of any further changes in tho plans. There had been an earlier report that the proposal to send a light cruiser squadron to Hobart had beep cancelled, due to the Inability of the vessels to make the trip and rejoin the detachment for the visit to Wellington within the lime available, but Admiral Coontz denied tho report and declared the trip to Hobart would be made. He expressed satisfaction that he was finally able to arrange, upon the request of tho Governor-General of New Zealand, for destroyer squadrons eleven and twelve to visit Dunedin and Lyttelton.
Admiral Coontz said: “After our long 1 rest here, we are desirous of starting the cruise. After twenty-two days at sea we shall bo ready for another turn ashore and this will be especially delightful, since we shall then be in Australia.”
