WEST COAST FREE FROM CRIME. [Per Press Association.! GREYMOUTH, Last Night. In the Supreme Court, Mr Justice Alpers was presented with white gloves. Ho congratulated the district on its creditable freedom from crime. Jas. Ryan, farmer, sued Mrs Isabella Chamberlain, owner of a farm adjoining plaintiff’s, at Ruru, for £350 damages from alleged breaking of a fence, causing 31 head oC plaintiff's stock to be mustered and converted to defendant’s use. Plaintiff gave evidence that ho visited his farm on Anzac Day and found stock missing. He spoke > to defendant, who admitted paying' ona Malllnson £1 to muster stock. After corroborative evidence the hearing was adjourned till to-mor-row.
