PERSONAL PARAGRAPHS.
Mr. P. J. Dwyer, of the Palmerston North booking office, has been transferred to the relieving staff and has made a. start by replacing Mr. M. P. Casey on annual leave from Longburn railway station. The following visitors were welcomed at yesterday’s meeting of the Lunch Club: —Rev. C. C. Harrison of Wellington, "Messrs. P. Daniel, of Kapiti, W. L. Fltzherbert, G H. Adams and W. Stevenson.
Mrs B. J. Jacobs returned to Palmerston North yesterday after her visit to Dunedin with Mr Jacobs one of the t/wo Wellington provincial districts to the annual conference of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association.
.Mr B. J. Jacobs returned yesterday from Dunedin, whore he attended the annual conference of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association. The moat Important decision agreed to was that reverting to direct representation of Individual lAssociations, instead of by district delegates. Instead of franchising them. Mr Jacobs was of opinion that disfranchisement may result, ns the expense of sending delegates to the conferences will probably he too great for some Associations to undertake.
Colllnson and Cunnlnghame’s tearooms have added a further attraction in the "Collinghamc Trio.” The three instrumentalists, under the able leadership of Miss Hancock, will play every afternoon and will be a source of great enjoyment to all those who listen to them. Colllnson and Cunnlnghame’a tea-rooms are well-known as being the prettiest tea-rooms in Palmerston North.
