In the preface, the author acknowledges the help and encouragement received (from doctors and others), and jalso from Dr. Alsake’s books on the subject. The health-giving properties of wjieatmeal bread and of other foods are concisely dealt with, and the numerous menus are annotated with hints as to the best means of obtaining the best nutritive results from cooking. The book “Health and Happiness," by M. Frances, may be obtained from Messrs G. H. Bennett and Co., and is sure to have a ready sale.
