“THE TRANSFORMED ISLE”

AT EVERYBODY’S. Information from other centres shows that .a profound impression has been made by the screening of the notable South Sea Island film ‘.’The Transformed Isle.” The story spreads over twenty-three years, and shows tho condition of tho natives of Vella Lavella island in the Solomon group when the missionaries first arrived, following through the wonderful change wrought in their habits, speech and thought. The rites and customs in vogue in pre-missionary days have boon carefully reconstructed under expert guidance, and they constitute a thrilling portrayal of the conditions of life from which the selfsacrificing labours of the men women of Australia and New Zealand ha won them. Tho film will be screened three times—on Wednesday and Thursday, and at a matinee on Wednesday afternoon. The box plan is at G. H. Bennett’s.
