HOCKEY.
A t. . AFFILIATED CL/ÜBS’ tourney. On Saturday afternoon, on Victoria Park, the Feilding and district clubs’ tourney for ladies' and men's teams Was held in perfect weather. The recent mole draining' of the ground had made a marked improvement, and when this work is completed, the ground should be playable in all weathers. Twenty teams took part in the contests, and the different games were closely followed. Owing to the death of Miss Clare, the Waituna team, of which she was a popular member, did not lake part in the tourney. The men’s affiliated clubs challenge cup was won by Carnarvon, and the ladies’ cups went to High School following a long strenuous game. At the conclusion (Mr V. Sutton), president of the Association, presented the cups to the victorious teams, and offered his congratulations to the players. The following are th 6 details of the play.— Ladles’ Games. Section A: Carnarvon won by forfeit from Waituna; Marton drew with Ohakea B, 1 all; Ohakea B won by forfeit from Waituna; Carnarvon A drew with Ohakea B, no score; Marton won by . forfeit from. Waituna. Section won by Carnarvon A with a total of 5 points. Section B: Hinekoa A 1 defeated Ohakea A nil; Hinekoa A 3 defeated Carnarvon B 0; Ohakea A. 2 defeated Carnarvon B 0; Section winner Hinekoa A, with a total of 4 points. Section C: —Hinekoa B drew with Stanway, no score; High School 2 defeated Hinekoa B 0; Stanway and High School drew, no score. Section winner, High School; total points, 3. Section D: Halcombe 1 defeated Tokorangi 0; Halcombe drew with High School Old Girls, no score; High School Old Girls v 1 defeated Tokorangi 0; Section tie. Halcombe and High School Old Girls, each 3 points. Final, High School Old Girls 1 defeated Halcombe 0. Semi Finals; Carnarvon A defeated Hinekoa A by t goal and a knock behind, to one; High School defeated High School Old Girls after playing extra time by 1 goal to nil. Final; Carnarvon A and High School met in the final, and at the call of time were one all. On playing extended time, High School succeoder in registering another goal, and this won the cup. Men’s Games. Section A: Wesley A 4 defeated Carnarvon C; .Marton 1 defeated Carnarvon C; Wesley A 2 defeated Marton 0; Section winner, Wesley A total of 4 points. Section B; Carnarvon B 2 defeated Pirates A 0; Wesley B drew with Pirates A, no score; Carnarvon B 1 defeated Wesley B 0; Section winner, Carnarvon B, total points, 4. Section C: Carnarvon A 2 defeated Pakeh.a 0; Carnarvon A 1 defeated Pirates B 0; Pakeha 1 drew with Pirates B 1; Section winner, Carnarvon A, total points, 4. Semi-Finals: Carnarvon A, after playing extended time, succeeded in winning- a vigorous game against Wesley A by 1 goal to nil. Final: The two Carnarvon teams fought out the "final which terminated in a victory for the A team by one goal to nil. Wanganui r. Felkling. On Saturday afternoon, July 4th, a representative team from Wanganui will meet a Foilding representative team on Victoria Park. As a curtain raiser to this fixture, the CarnarvonOhakea representative team will meet the combined representatives of Kiwitea, Rangiwahia and Kimbolton in a match for the McKelvie Cup.
