THE £IOO CHALLENGE
Mr Mander’s Evidence (To the Editor). Sir, —I wish to congratulate Mr Mander on the prompt way in which he has supplied his evidence in support of his assertion that “Leo X put indulgences on the market,” or as I worded it, "That Leo X did authorise or sanction the sale of Indulgences.” This evidence submitted by Mr Mander and printed in to-day’s issue of the “Times” will be put before the committee selected a week ago at Mr Hander’s request. It now rests with these gentlemen to arrange a time and place that will suit themselves. As the obligation is on Mr Mander to support his charge, I assume that he will bo present when his evidence is under examination. Meantime I should like to recommend to the readers of the “Times” to keep carefully Mr Mander’s evidence as it appeared in this morning’s issue. It will be my pleasant duty to submit that document to a searching scrutiny, with the widest publicity, and at a time and place to be duly advertised. I am, etc., E. J. LYNCH, St. Patrick’s Presbytery, Palmerston North, June 16. 1325.
