A Tokio cable announces the death of Madam Kajlko Yajima, a noted woman social and temperance worker, aged 93 years. A vote of condolence with Mr J. Murray, rector of the Boys’ High School, in the death of his mother, was carried at last night’s meeting of the High Schools’ Board of Governors. Mr \V. J. Harris has succeeded Mr J. Penketh as plumbing instructor at the Palmerston North Technical School. At its meeting last evening, the High Schools Board of Governors decided to place on record its appreciation of Mr Penketh’s twenty years’ service.
Mr A. F. NeUson, Pihama, secretary of the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association, which hold its annual general meeting at Palmerston North last night, is the well-known Taranaki rugby referee, and a brother of the lion, secretary of the Taranaki Rugby Union. Messrs Bernard Tripp and W. H, Nicholson, the New Zealand pastorabsts representatives, are Intervieing the New South Wales pastoralists prior to proceeding to Melbourne for the wool conference, at which a scheme for dealing with the present position will be discussed with Sir John Higgins, states a Sydney cable.
