HOCKEY.

"ST At Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon, Hinekoa defeated High School Old Girls in the first round of the ladies’ hookey competition by 2 goals to nil. Miss B. Dcwc secured both goals for the victors. Mr. V. Wallis was the referee. In the men's match, Wesley v. Pirates, the former team, thanks to the consistent play of H. Harford, won the day try 6 goals to nil. The success of the new Club should mean much to the success of the competitions. although more was expected of Pirates, who have handled the stick much more than their capable opponents. Mr. W. Mingins was the referee.
