A SOVIET ERROR.

SUPPRESSION OF RURAL TRADING. [By Electric Cable—Copyright.] [Aust, and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Monday 7 p.m) RIGA, May 3. Signs of opposition to the Soviet’s new economic policy are forthcoming from the fourteenth Congress of the All Russian Communist Party, notablyin connection with M. Rykoff’s statement that administrative pressure must be exercised, against new capitalistic retailors arising in the rural districts, where the policy is beginning to bear fruit. Various speakers criticised this new line as incompatible with Communist doctrines. One member expressed the opinion that the, policy was an error which would cause an acute political struggle in the villages.
