MARKET GENERALLY EASIER The market was generally easier at the Feilding stock sale yesterday, when fair entries of both sheep and cattle came forward. The condition of the stock was generally good, although there were a number of poorconditioned hoggets. The fat sheep pens were fairly well represented, but cattle were mostly on the light side, excepting those pens which were passed. Store cows predominated in the cattle section and the bulk of those offering were quilted at market rates. Following are the quotations;—Fat sheep, lambs: 24/9, 27/8, 27/9, 28/-, 29/7, 29/11 to 30/- ahd one at 36/6; ewes, 24/6, 26/9, 25/6, 27/-, 28/- to 32/-: wethers: 32/9, 36/- 38/6 48/7 to 49/-. 1 iwl Fat cattle, cows: light, £2 7/6, £2 16/-, £2 18/-, £2 19/-. £3 5/-, £3 8/£4 ’2/- to £4 2/6; heavier £4 7/6, £4 15/-, £5 6/- to £5 14/-; heifers: £4, £5 5/-, £5 7/6 to £5 14/-; bullocks £7 3/-. £7 15/- to £8 17/-. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Taihape on Wednesday, the ?oth. instassj. when a good yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle came to hand. There was a fair attendance of buyers. Competition was somewhat restricted, and prices generally were in favour of buyers, there being a slight decrease in values. We quote: 4th wethers (small) 24/-; 4. <1 and Bth wethers, 29/- to 32/6; good 2th wethers, 30/6 to 31/6; f and 'f wethers, 35/-; extra good m.s f and f lambs, 31/-; store cows, £2 ,15/6.
