A detachment of police motored to a farmhouse at Darvintza, where they learned that Grantcharoff, a member of a gang - of conspirators who were commuting acts of terrorism, was hiding - In response to an order to surrender, Grantcharoff appeared at the window of the granary and fired on the police, who returned the fire, killing Grantcharoff. The schools are filled with Communist and Agrarian prisoners. Eleven were killed and thirty wounded in a four-hour battle between revolutionaries and police.
