ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN FOR PALMERSTON NORTH.
(To The Editor.) Sir,—Palmerston North is a very progressive town, having beautiful gardens, parks, etc., but, beyond these wc have nothing of interest to show the vsiitors to our town. Wo cannot boast of a beach—that is an item that wo will never possess—but there is one thing that wc can have, that being a zoological garden. This would be a great asset to our town. Many of us who live in Palmerston North, have never even seen a kiwi, the very emblem of our country, and hundreds of children here have never seen a zoo. I am certain that it would be in the interests of the town and community, if a stop was taken in this direction, and I feel sure many large establishments here, as in other centres, would gladly contribute to a cause, such as his. Thanking you for your valued space and trusting some more capable hand will take this subject up. I am, etc. •'.ADVANCE PALMERSTON." May 1, 1025.
