CRICKET.

ODDFELLOWS CELEBRATE. Members of the Feilding Order of Oddfellows assembled at the Foresters’ Hall on Thursday evening, the occasion being a complimentary social to the members of the cricket club, who had contested the junior competition so successfully. Bro. Ficbig, N. 6., presided and an enjoyable evening was spent in dancing which was supplemented with musical numbers. Mrs. Fiebig and Miss Stokes played a pianoforte duet, Miss Stokes a pianoforte solo, Bro. Flavall ah accordeon solo, with song’s by Miss Bertha Dewe and Bro. Matheson, D.D.M.G. The visiting ladies provided a dainty supper, at which a short toast list was gone through. “The King” was honoured: also the “Grand Lodge,” proposed by Bro. Flavall: “Kiwitea Lodge and Cricketers,” by Sis. Fidler; "Kowhai Lody”” by Bro. Miller; “The Visitors,” and “The Press.” Suitable replies were made by Bros. Matheson, Fiebig and Flavall.

Bro. Matheson, in a few happy remarks, presented to the cricket captain Bro. Dewe, the Smithers’ Shield. Presentations of handsome silver and gold medals were also made to Bro. Audry, the most efficient player, and to Bro. R. Mclntosh, who scored the highest batting average. A dance fittingly Concluded the evening. PARK CLUB. At an ehd of season meeting of members of the Park Cricket Club held at the residence ofMr. W. Crooke club trophies were presented to the successful players. The bowling trophy was won by L. Bramwell, who took 61 wickets with an average of 5.8 runs. G. Darragh won the batting trophy with an average of 19.5 for seventeen innings arid the trophy for the highest individual score was won by W. Mingius. The Taylor Challenge Cup for the most improved player was presented to L. Bramwell. Mr. and Mrs. M'erwood were presented with a handsome Doulton bowl as a token of respect and esteem in which they were held by the Club. Supper and a social evening followed the formal business.
