Values Of Good Ewes Asd Lambs Maintained. OLD EWES AND WETHERS DECIDEDLY EASIER. [Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. At the Addington market heavj yardings were again the order today, well over 40,000 sheep were penned. The sale was a hard one. The top auction price for Poverty Bay two-tooth ewes was 44/3 and by private sale a shade easier. There were more store sheep, over 30.000 coming forward, including good ewe lines from Poverty Bay. There was a sluggish sale in the forenoon, with frequent passings, but improvement was effected later in the day. Good ewes were slightly better than last week, lambs about the same, but old ewes and wethers were decidedly easier, the former by 4/- to 6/- a head on a month ago. Fat Sheep.—There was a very keen sale for fat sheep and a heavy yarding, 33 per cent more than usual. Exporters secured a good proportion at a schedule of 7Jd for prime wethers and 6id for ewes. Their competition kept the market up;iand|,ithere were no passings.
