Mr and Mrs Larry Sherriff, of Talhape, will be holiday guests of Mr R. S. Abraham, of Palmerston North. Mr and Mrs R. Hewitt, of Hawke's Bay, have taken Mr and Mrs R. P. Abraham’s residence for one month during the holiday season. Mr C. A. E. Ferguson and Miss D. Ferguson, of Palmerston North, left yesterday for Christchurch, to join Mrs and Miss L. Ferguson, Mr and Mrs Ritchie Abraham leave for Paraparaumu on Mondaynext, while Mr and Mrs Jack Sandford and family, of Marton, will visit the same place on January 3rd. G 76 9 for reserves. WEDDING. A very pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Hawera, on Wednesday December 17th, when Irene Muriel, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. R. Hooper, Te Roti, was married to Roy, fourth son of Mr E. Wilton, of Tokomaru, the Reverena Monaghan officiating. The bride, who entered the Church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a frock or ivory satin, with panels of silver lacc, and a satin train lined with shell pink georgette. She wore a beautiful veil with coronet of silver leaves ana pearls, and carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies. The two little train bearers, Joyce Lend rum and Thelma Crann, wore early Victorian frocks ot amethyst and lemon respectively, ana carriod small posies to match. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss A. Hooper, in flame shot taffeta, Miss G.*Lendrum in pale green shot taffeta Miss O. Wilton, sister of the bridegroom. in pale blue satin, and Miss G. Hooper, cousin of tho bride, in shell pink morocain. All wore veils to match, and carried bouquets of sweet peas and maidenhair fern, and altogether they made J a charming picture. The best man was Mr J. Cockerton, and the groomsmen Messrs R. Hooper and R. Cockerton. After th e ceremony a reception was held, when a large number of guests were assembled. The bride’s travelling dress was a cream Jersey silk jumper costume with tango hat. The presents were numerous and costly, including several cheques. Thg happy couple left amid showers of confetti for New Plymouth, where the honeymoon will be spent.
