The two Houses of the State Parliament got to logger-heads over the clause In the Railways Hill, which provided that members who had served in three complete Parliaments, should receive free gold railway passes for life. Cabinet Ministers were not unanimous on the question, Put members of the Assembly naturally favoured the proposal and sent W along to the Council Councillors were opposed to it, and promptly sent the Bill back with the clause deleted. The Assembly indignantly restored the clause, and sent it back to the Council, which decided to insist on its deletion. The Assembly. though still indignant, swallowed the snub and accepted the deletion. The Houses then adjourned till Christmas.
