Richardson againsi the disqualification of himself, the horse Rosnday, his . trainer, D. P Wilson, Jimr., and the Jockey, A. H Wilson, was dismissed by the Racing Conference by the appeal judges, Sir George Clifford, Messrs John Grigg, and G. N. McLean, and the appellant’s deposit was forfeited. In the course of their judgment, the judges say: “The’evidence of responsible eye-witnesses of the two races is in agreement as to the wilful .prevention of Roseday from' doing himself justice in the Gore Cup. Confirmation of their opinion is derived from his clearing way in that race for Kerb, his stable companion, and from the different style of riding adopted on him on the second day. We cannot dissociate the owner of Roseday from the tactics pursued in the running of the horses from Wilson’s stable on this occasion.” The appeals of D. P. and A. H. Wilson were then withdrawn. Particulars of train arrangements on 2 sth December and in connection with Palmerston North races on 26th, 27th. and 2flth, December, are advertised in this issue. According to the Riccarton trackwatchers. Count Cavour was galloping better than Tarleton on the training tracks. The Derby winner should •not fail on account of condition at Ellerslio. , Mr W. J. B. Jolly denies the statement that he has bought Birthmark.

Imperial Spark is an unlikely starter in the Fitzherbert Handicap.

The four-year-old, Passin’ By (Guianforte —Voca) has been purchased by the owner of Passin’ Through and will probably join J. Fryer’s stable in the near future.

A Bandswan three-year.old, which was hunted with the Wanganui-Eg-mont hounds, is ti recent addition to J. Fryer’s Hawcra team, and is credited with great jumping capabilities.

Nomination for the Manawatu Trotting Club’s annual meeting close with the secretary, Mr W. ’Manson, at 6 o’clock to.night.

The consistent but rather unlucky Diamond Ring has been sold by Mr H. M. Campbell, but the name of the buyer has not been divulged.

Tho racing he had at Takapna wrought some improvement in Loyal Irish, who is (states a Northern writer) moving along very nicely at Ellerslio. Stakes are always hard to win at tlie Auckland Summer Meeting, but this horse looks so well that his prospects of annexing some money look good.

Star Shell has been causing his trainer sonic anxiety owing to his bruising a foot.

Until the present deluge of rain arrived, both local and visiting trainers at Woodville had been taking most advantage of the training tracks there T. F. Quinliva'n stayed on with Royal Divorce, Fool’s Paradise, and Grand Knight after the recent meeting, and all three horses have done well. It was hoped to give Royal Divorce a sound gallop on Thursday morning, but tho rain prevented it. So far it is doubtful if the English horse will start in tho Auckland Cup; it all depends on how forward he is by race day. Fool’s Paradise, on the contrary, should be cherry-ripe, and Grand Knight is galloping like an early winner. Possibly both will he started in tho Railway Handicap,

Collinson and Cunninghame are showing this week dainty Afternoon Tea Aprons in pure organdie—muslin and voile. Make nice Christmas gills. In white muslin, 3/11 to 5/6; coloured organdie, 5/9 to 6/6; in floral foulard, 2/3 to 2/6.
