MacDONALD WINS BLENHEIM BOUT. CALLAWAY’S PLUCKY FIGHT. [Per Press Association.] BLENHEIM, Last Night. Lackio MacDonald, of Dunedin, defeated Carl Callaway, of Blenheim, on a technical knock-out in tho fifteenth round of a professional bout on Satur. day night. The fight went practically the full distance, and all but two or three rounds ended In MacDonald’s favour. In the fifteenth Callaway was floored. He could have been up at the count of five, but stayed on one knee till the count of nine, when he resumed tiie figlut. Within half a minute of the final gong ne again went down, a,nd this time was too slow in regaining his feet. One glove was still on the floor when the referee reached the count “out.” Though outclassed by a stronger and heavier man, Callaway put up 8 good performance and took a tremendous amount of punishment, and was always smiling. He was warmly cheered on leaving the ring.
