[Per Press Association.] BLENHEIM, Last Night,

In the Supreme Court, an old man, James Ryan, was charged with interfering with a young girl. Tim jury returned a verdict of guilty of attempted carnal knowledge. Mr Justice Reed, in imposing reformative detention for a period not exceeding twelve months, said the prisoner was more to be pitied, but he had to consider the protection of the commili ily. His Honour was of the opinion that there should be some sort of home for those cases.
