BURNT TO ASHES.
EXPERIMENTER’S PATE. WHILE TESTING POWER OP ELECTRICITY. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] PARIS. June 9. An extraordinary fatality at Saint Die occurred as a result of a controversy between two electricians as to the lethal power of electric currents. One, named Rover, insisted that it was possible without danger, to climb to the top of a standard carrying high-tension current, provided one did not touch the w’res. He proceeded to climb the standard, to which wires carrying 75.000 volts were attached. As he neared the top his companion hoard a tremendous report, and saw Royer's body disappear in flames, literally carbonised by the current. Every shred of clothing vanished.
