Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having held a clearing sale of dairy cows on account of Herbert Jensen.. Esq., Karere. There was a good attendance and th e bidding was good for the best cows, tho average for the herd being £8 14/. We quote: Best cows £lO, £ll, £l2, £l2 10/, £l3, £IG, to £l7; cows £3 5/, £4, £G, £7, to £8; springing heifers £5 to £lO S/6, milking plant £74; sundries at late rates.
Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Palmerston North report:—At our Himatangi saleyards on Monday we held our usual fortnightly sale. A very moderate entry came forward to a small attendance of the public. Wo cleared the yard under the hammer at prices satisfactory to , vendors. Small b.f. lambs 15/G; s.m. owes r.w. S.D. rams 22/1; fat cows £8 to £4 5/; forward cows £2, £2 10/, to £2 16/; store cows 29/, 80/, 31/, to 36/; springing heifers £7 15/; do. small £5 5/; dairy cows £3 to £4 15/. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd,, report having held a dairy sale on account of Mr D. Q. Forlong, Roed's Line, Bunnythope, on Tuesday, June 10. The held of 80 cows were chiefly crossbreds, and there was good competition throughout the day, the vendor expressing his satisfaction with ihe good results ob.ained. Quotations: Backward and late calving cows £3 15/, £4, £4 10/, £5, £5 15/, to £8; fair cows, £6 10/, £7, £7 10/, to £8 10/: better class cows, £9 10/, £lO, £lO 15/, £ll, £ll 5/, to £l3 15/. The herd averaged £7 5/. P.N. HORSE SALTS. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltdreport on their regular Saturday horse sale as follows;—On June 7 wc sold on account of ‘Mr A. Mathicson; Draught gelding £45; mares £ll, £34 10/-, £36, £47, £49. On account other vendors: Draughts sold from £25 to £29. Hacks and harness horses were in poor demand, relising from £1 10/ to £7 5/. IMPORTANT CLEARING SALE. On Tuesday next, at No. 4 Line, Kairanga, there will bo held, on behalf of the executors in the estate of the late Arthur Lancaster, an important unreserved sale. The offering comprises 12 pedigree Jerseys and a very high-grade herd of nearly 100 head ot high-testing cows. Throughout the district the late Mr Lancaster was well-known as a successful dairy farmer, and there is no doubt as to the high quality of his herd, built up by years of consistent culling and export selection. The sale is , entirely without reserve, every line offered to’ go to the highest bidder. Full particulars of the sale will bo found in another column.
