DEVASTATION IN MIDDLE WEST. Heaig Death Roll From Storms THREE ILLINOIS TOWNS WIPED OUT. [By Electric Cable—Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Sunday, 11.5 p.m) NEW YORK, March 29. A telegram from Kansas City states that another of the terrific storms which have been taking toll of lives and property this winter occurred during the * ast twenty-four horn’s. This time from a tornado and floods, which extended eastward from the Rocky Mountains, already thirty dead have been, reported and many hundreds injured. Three small towns in Illinios have heen completely destroyed, and the fate of the thousands of inhabitants lias not been determined. A wind storm cut across the country in the south, demolishing thousands of buildings. Four hundred students in a School at Sliawr.ee, Oklahoma, wore dismissed when (lie teacher saw the clouds massing, and the building was demolished a few minutes later. Railway trains in many parts of the country were blown from the tracks, and snow slides occurred In Utah Rivers emptying into the Mississippi have over flown their banks and large sections of the four States have been in flood. The storm Is continuing, with blizzards and torrential rain.
