Despite the strong counter-attrac-tion of the races and the somewhat unpleasant, weather conditions, there was a large attendance at the Labour Day sports. The chief events resulted: 100yds, amateurs —Gorrie. 1, Jenkins 2. One mile —Lander 1, Craig. 2. 220yds—Jenkins 1, Levi 2. BRoyds Perston 1, Za,nda 2. Ladies' 75yds— Miss Posselt 1, Miss Harper 2. Secondary schools, 220yds championship —Taylor (St. Patrick's) 1. 440yds— Oakley (Technical College) 1. Tramwaymen won the relay race and the Carey Memorial Shield.
