IX)AN PROPOSAL £4BOO. jVTOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Manawatu Drainage Board to borrow from the State Advances Office the sum of £4BOO under the provisions of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913,” for a period of- 36 J years at 4i per cent, per annum for the following purposes, viz.:—• Widening, deepening, diverting, straightening, putting in flood-gates and doing all such other works, and a£ts as may be necessary for the purpose of improving the Joint Outlet, Whiskey Creek, Burkes drain and Boundary drain. The security for such loan shall be a Special Rate on the following graduated scale: — A rate of l-15d in the £ upon the rateable value of all rateable property classed A. A rate of 3-70 d in the £ upon the rateable value of all rateable property classed B. A rate of 2-70 d in the £ upon the rateable value of all rateable property classed C. Such rate to be an annually recurring rate for 36 1 years, or until the loan is repaid. Cost of raising the loan and the interest for the first year to be paid om of the loan.
