RAIN STOPS PLAY. Dark clouds and a dull sky threatened the cricketers at the commencement of the competition matches at the Sportsgrounds on Saturday, and heavy rain fell before long, forcing the suspension of the matches. In the senior section, High School tried conclusions 'frith Old Boys, and Railway met R.S.A. on a fast wicket. HIGH SCHOOL v. OLD BOYS. Bennett and Thomson opened up for High School, which failed miserably aton strike form. Thomson was not allowed to break his duck, and then Aim joined Bennett at the wickets, both securing six before Hodder justified his existence with the bail. 11cSwecney got going with - Oallichau. who brightened up things a little with a couple of boundaries. “Run out. His partner, Perrin, who made a very careful 14, before sending himself into the hands of his bowler, Mullins, was replaced by Donaldson, who had 19 not out, to his credit when stumps were drawn.
