THOUSANDS OF APPLICANTS. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Raceived Thursday, 7.35 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. IS. Sir L. Worthington Evans, speaking at Colchester, in dealing with piracj in broadcasting, said during ten day* there were 2"7,000. applicants for licenses, bringing both to the broadcasting company and the public a total or something like £200,000. There war. no fear of the company making an extravagant profit, because it was entitled only to seven and a-half pet cent. The surplus would be surrendered to the Post Office.
