In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,” and “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920.” rpHE Palmerston North Borough Council hereby gives notice that it proposes to raise a Special Loan of Twenty thousand Pounds (£20,000) at a rate of interest not exceeding six per centum per annum, for the purpose of enabling the said Council to apply the said sum tovavds the cost of extending the transmission and distribution lines within the Borough, purchasing of plant, fittings, equipment, stock, apparatus-, machinery, meters, motor truck, and to provide financial assistance to consumers to enable them to connect with the supply.. And for the purpose of providing for—the- repayment of the said loan, and for the payment of interest and other charges on or in connection with the Special Loan and a Sinking Fund of one per centum per annum, to appropriate and pledge as security a special rate of One-fifth of a Penny in the Pound sterling on the rateable value of' all‘rateable property in the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the said Borough, on the basis of the unimproved value: such' rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such‘loan, and to be made and levied by resolution of the said Council, to be passed after the said Special Loan has been agreed to by the Ratepayers. The whole of the loan is to be repaid on the expiration of ten years from the date of raising same.
